Ingredients For Shahi Fish

  • Fish-2
  • Chopped Onions- 2
  • Oil- 5 tbsp
  • Fresh Cream- 1 tbsp
  • Cumin Seeds- ½ tsp
  • Garlic Flakes- 6
  • Asafetida- ¼ tsp
  • Oil
  • Salt as needed

Paste of:

  • Ginger- 1 tbsp
  • Cashew nuts- 7
  • Dry Coconut- ½ cup
  • Poppy Seeds- ½ tbsp

Powder of:

  • Red Chili Powder- 2 tsp
  • Coriander Powder- 2 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder- ½ tsp
  • Cumin Seed Powder- 1 tsp

How To Make Shahi Fish

  • Cut the fish into pieces.
  • Wash and clean the pieces of fish.
  • Heat up the oil in a frying pan and fry the fish pieces till it is golden brown in color.
  • Take another pan and heat 1 tbsp oil. Drop in onions and fry till they turn golden brown.
  • Remove the onions and add cumin seeds and asafetida into the pan.
  • Once the seeds splutter add in the pastes and allow all it to cook on low flames for 3 min after adding 3 tbsp water.
  • Sprinkle salt and all the powders.
  • Keep frying till oil starts coming out of spices.
  • Let it simmer for another 3-4 min. Add the fish pieces.
  • Drop in cream and mix well.
  • Serve hot straight from the pan.
