Ingredients For Fish Biryani

  • Basmati Rice-1 kg
  • White fish fillets -1 lb
  • Yogurt - 2 cup
  • Chopped Tomato - 1 cup
  • Red Chili Powder - 1 tablespoon
  • Green Chili Powder - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic Paste - 1 teaspoon
  • Ginger Paste - 1 teaspoon
  • Black Pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cloves - 6
  • Bay Leaves - 4
  • Cardamon - 4
  • Cinnamon - 4
  • Powder of Garam Masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric Powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Pinch of saffron
  • Milk - 1/2 cup
  • Salt acc to taste
  • Thinly Sliced lemon - 1
  • Medium Size onions - 2
  • Chopped coriander leaves, fresh - 2 tablespoon
  • Chopped mint leaves, fresh - 2 tablespoon
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Cashew Nuts- 1 tablespoon
  • Oil - 1 cup
  • Desi Ghee - 1/2 cup
  • Mustard Seeds - 1/2 teaspoon

How To Make Fish Biryani

  • Soak the rice into water for about 1 hour. Also soak the saffron in hot milk. Keep it aside for some time.
  • Now cut the fish wash it properly and then make it boil in a cup of water. Add some salt also. Remove it from the heat and keep it aside for about some time.
  • Now warm up some oil in a sauce pan and let the thinly sliced onion fry till its color changes to golden brown. Drain out the onions from the sauce pan and keep them aside.
  • In same oil put yogurt, mustard seeds, red chili powder, tomato, cumin, green chili paste, black pepper, turmeric powder, salt, bay leaves, garam Masala powder, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, garlic paste, and ginger paste. Fry them for about 15 minutes or till the oil starts separating from the mixture.
  • Add boiled fish pieces into the mixture and stir it well. Keep them aside for some time.
  • Now boil the rice in a big skillet. After 20 minutes drain the rice from the skillet and then keep them aside for some time.
  • Now apply layers of rice in a big pan, add fried onions to it, and then fish curry. To the last layer of rice add saffron milk, fresh chopped coriander leaves, and mint leaves and Desi ghee
  • Put this layered dish on a pre heated griddle. Cook it on high flame. As steam starts coming out from the griddle slow down the flame and again let it cook until it is done.
