Brief Description

Coconut / nariyal chutney is also known as white chutney as it is white in color. This chutney makes the taste of idli, dosa and uttapam even better and is must have side dish with many south Indian recipes.

Ingredients For Coconut Chutney

  • Freshly Grated coconut- 1
  • urad dal- 2 tbsp
  • mustard seeds- 2 tsp
  • whole red chilies- 2
  • cooking oil- 3 tbsp
  • curry leaves-  10 to 15
  • salt as needed

How To Make Coconut Chutney

  • Put the grated coconut and salt into a grinder and grind it into a fine paste.
  • Heat 3 tbsp oil in a frying pan and add udad dal and mustard to it. After a few seconds lower the heat and add red chilies and curry leaves to it. Keep frying for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Pour the coconut paste in the pan and mix well with the other ingredients.
  • Coconut chutney is ready to be served.
