Ingredients for Tandoori Chicken Sandwich

  • Boneless and skinless chicken breast halves-6
  • fresh lemon juice-2 tbsp
  • plain yogurt-1 cup
  • chopped fresh ginger-2 tbsp
  • Chopped garlic cloves-2
  • ground cumin-1/2 tsp
  • ground coriander-1/2 tsp
  • cayenne pepper-1/4 tsp
  • turmeric-1/4 tsp
  • sourdough bread-12 slices

How to make Tandoori Chicken Sandwich

  • Firstly take a big glass baking dish and put all boneless chicken breasts in an order in 1 layer in it.
  • Spray some fresh lemon juice and marinate it with salt.
  • Now mix cayenne pepper, turmeric, chopped garlic, plain yogurt, chopped fresh ginger, ground coriander and ground cumin in a medium size bowl.
  • Put yogurt solution over chicken breasts and flip it form a coat and then cover it properly and put it in fridge for 3 to 8 hours.
  • Now the cooking utensil should be heated in advance or make barbecue over medium-high flame.
  • Now take out the chicken breasts from solution and roast chicken till it gets completely cooked and do this for about 5mins for each side.
  • Now allow it to cool for some time. (Chicken can be made 2 hrs in advance and cover it properly and allow it to stand at room temp.)
  • Finally roast the sourdough bread slightly. One side of every bread slice should be stretched properly with Spiced Indian Mayonnaise.
  • Now diagonally cut the chicken breasts and put 1 breast piece on top of all 6 sourdough bread pieces.
  • Finally topping should be done using the left out bread slices and then divide chicken sandwiches properly in half.
  • Now the recipe is prepared and is ready to serve.

Some Useful Tips

If you are thinking of preparing garlic, fresh chilli and ginger pastes at home, then make sure you add tablespoon of canola/hot vegetable/ sunflower cooking oil to the paste and mix it well this will ensure a longer life for the paste prepared. Refrigerate and use it as per your requirement.
