Ingredients for Sindhi Seyal Chicken

  • Chicken with bones (divided in pieces and with skin removed)-500gms
  • Finely chopped onion- 1 large
  • Finely chopped garlic- 4 cloves
  • Finely chopped ginger-1 small piece
  • Finely chopped green chilies (or capsicum)-2 to 3
  • Finely chopped red tomato- 1 large
  • Red capsicum-1 ( optional)
  • White yogurt-100 grams
  • a handful of coriander leaves chopped fine
  • a few finely chopped mint leaves
  • Coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and a small amount of red chili powder (if needed)- 1 teaspoon each
  • Potato divided into big cubes – 1 medium sized(OPTIONAL)

How to make Sindhi Seyal Chicken

  • Firstly take a normal cooking pan or a pressure cooker and add all above mentioned ingredients in it EXCEPT the potatoes and the chicken and the potatoes.
  • Now using your hand and mash all the mixture completely and do this for about 5 minutes continuously crushing all the ingredients and then squeezing it
  • Now season the potatoes and chicken in this prepared mixture for 1 hour so that all the flavors combine in it.
  • Now finally place the pan or the cooker on the heat and start cooking it and do this until the chicken is done.
  • In case you are using PRESSURE COOKER wait till 5 whistles (or 5 minutes of normal pressure cooking time) or if you are using normal cooking pan then cook it in covered manner till the chicken is done.
