Brief Description

Paprikasz Biryani is a standard biryani recipe having some modified ingredients in it and mainly containing a lot of red paprika and less heat.

Ingredients for Paprikasz Biryani

  • 2 cup of Basmati rice
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 1 small chicken
  • ½ tbsp of Coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp of Cumin powder
  • ½  tbsp of Garam masala
  • 2 tsp of Ginger/garlic paste
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 1 Onion to fry
  • Add Salt according to taste
  • 2 tbsp Sweet paprika
  • ½ tsp of Turmeric
  • 3 tbsp Yogurt

How to make Paprikasz Biryani

  • Firstly divide the small chicken into pieces and then rub it with salt.
  • Now mix cumin, paprika, yogurt, ginger/garlic paste, bay leaf, coriander, bay leaf, garam masala, turmeric, savory, oil and then add chicken in this mixture to marinate.
  • Meanwhile start frying some onions in oil and reserve some oil and put it in the pot with water and add some cumin seeds in it.
  • Now add the soaked basmati rice in it for about 30 minutes.
  •  Now start cooking the rice and do this on rapid fire for about 5 minutes till it is half done.
  • Now put the seasoned chicken on the bottom of dutch oven and put some rice on its top.
  • Now put some fried onions on the top and cover the dish and now cook it for about 5 mins on high flame, 15mins on medium flame and 25mins on low flame.
  • Now this biryani prepared can be served by putting some sour cream on the chicken.

Some Useful Tips

    If you are thinking of preparing garlic, fresh chilli and ginger pastes at home, then make sure you add tablespoon of canola/hot vegetable/ sunflower cooking oil to the paste and mix it well this will ensure a longer life for the paste prepared. Refrigerate and use it as per your requirement.
