Ingredients for Mysorian Chilli Chicken

  • Chicken-300 gms
  • Oil- 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder- 1/4th tsp
  • Salt- 1tsp

To Be Ground Into Paste

  • Whole dhania- 15 gms
  • Whole jeera- 5 gms
  • Black peppercorn-5 gms
  • Charmagaz-5 gms
  • khus khus-5 gms
  • Saunf-5 gms
  • Mustard seeds-5gms
  • Cloves-2
  • Elaichi-2
  • Sliced Onion-50 gms
  • Green chillies slit & deseeded-25 gms
  • Oil-4 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder-1/4th tsp
  • Water-140 ml

Other Ingredients

  • Oil-2 tsp
  • Tomato puree-100 gms
  • Curry leaves-4 to 5
  • Green chilli slit-3 to 4

Mysorian Chilli Chicken

How to make Mysorian Chilli Chicken

  • Firstly season the chicken for about 10 minutes with 1/4 th tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp oil and salt and then keep it aside.
  • Now take a pan and put 4 tbsp oil in it and then add all the ingredients and sauté it until it becomes light brown.
  • Now add 140 ml water in it and remove it from fire.  Take another pan and take 2 tsp of oil inn it and start sauting the marinated chicken for about 2-3 minutes and then add 100 gm of prepared paste to it and then start cooking.
  •  Now add 100 gm tomato puree and put some water in it to make gravy. Now start boiling it and cook it on a low flame for about 5-6 minutes or till the chicken is properly cooked.
  • Now just before removing it from fire add some curry leaves and slit green chillies to it.
  • Now mix it well and then remove it from fire.
  • It can be served with steamed rice.

Some Useful Tips

    If you are thinking of preparing garlic, fresh chilli and ginger pastes at home, then make sure you add tablespoon of canola/hot vegetable/ sunflower cooking oil to the paste and mix it well this will ensure a longer life for the paste prepared. Refrigerate and use it as per your requirement.
