Ingredients for Chicken Kandhari Kofta

  • Minced chicken - 1/2 kg
  • Cinnamon powder  - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt acc to taste
  • Oil - 3 tablespoon
  • Finely ground  2 onions to paste
  • Garlic – ginger paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 tablespoon
  • Tomato puree - 1/2 cup
  • Paste of cashew nuts - 2/3 cup
  • Garam Masala powder  - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Fresh cream - 1/2 cup

How to make Chicken Kandhari Kofta

  • In a bowl mix minced chicken, one teaspoon salt and cinnamon powder. Stir it well. Make 10 equal portions of it and give them a shape like a Kofta. Keep aside for some time.
  •  Now heat oil in a sauce pan. Add onion paste to it and cook until onion color changes to brown.
  • Add garlic- ginger paste to the onion paste and fry 1 minute more. Now add chili powder and coriander powder.
  • Add tomato puree and cashew nut paste into some water and stir it well, cook for about 5 minutes on high flame.
  • Now add one and half cup of water and let the water boil.
  •  Add chicken Kofta to the water and cook for another 10 minutes. Stir it well.
  • Add garam Masala powder to the mixture and check that the chicken gets seasoned or not.
  • Cook for another 3 minutes.
  •  Now add fresh cream to the chicken Kofta, mix it well, and serve it with naan or roti.

Some Useful Tips

  • To make cashew nut paste you just need to soak half cup of cashew nuts in water for about half an hour, grind it well into a fine paste. Pieces of cashew nuts will also work.
